Check before you go
We gather event information from local calendars, organizers, and community submissions, and we work hard to keep it accurate, but events get cancelled, moved, and rescheduled all the time. Always verify details with the organizer before making plans. In the Tri isn't responsible for changes, cancellations, or plans that don't pan out.
What's ours, what's theirs
Event facts (names, dates, times, venues, prices) come from public sources, with a link back to the original wherever we can. Our descriptions, curation, and site design are ours. Event names and images belong to their organizers. If something of yours appears here and you want it changed or removed, email us and we'll sort it out fast.
Sponsored content
Anything a business pays for is clearly labeled: "Featured" on the calendar and in the email, or "Presented by" in the email. Free community listings are never influenced by sponsorship. When we feature something without being paid, it is labeled "Editor's pick, not a paid placement."
Paid placements
What you buy is placement, not results. We do not promise a number of views, clicks, ticket sales, or sign-ups.
Featured Event, 7 days ($15). Order it on the Featured page or with the box on the submit form. It goes live after payment and after we check the event, usually within 2 days, and runs for 7 days from then, or until the event is over if that is sooner. It also gets one line in the next Thursday email. The Featured row shows up to 3 featured events at a time; when more are running, they take turns. If we cannot list the event, we refund the $15.
Newsletter sponsor ($15 "Presented by" card). Runs once, in the Thursday issue you book, with the text and link you write, within the character limit shown when you order, and the logo you email by 5 PM Tuesday before that Thursday. One sponsor per issue. The newsletter page states the current size of the list, and we give you the exact subscriber count on request before you pay. If that issue does not send, we move your spot to the next issue or refund it.
Price changes. Prices go up in published steps as the audience grows (see Advertise). If you bought at an earlier price, your next 3 orders keep that price.
Cancelled or moved events. Tell us before the placement ends and we move it to the new date once. If the event is cancelled before your placement goes live, you get a full refund. After it goes live, no refund.
We can decline or remove paid content that is misleading, unsafe, or does not fit the site, and refund any unused part.
Submissions
By submitting an event you're telling us the information is accurate and you have the right to share it. We review every submission and may edit for clarity or decline listings that don't fit (spam, scams, anything unsafe or misleading).
