In the Tri is a free events calendar for Johnson City, Kingsport, and Bristol. There are two ways to advertise: put your event at the top of the calendar, or put your business at the top of the Thursday email. It is new and growing, so the prices are early prices.

A Featured Event sits in the labeled Featured row at the top of the calendar, above every free listing, for 7 days, or until your event if that is sooner, and it gets a line in the Thursday email. It also takes turns in the homepage spotlight.

Your business at the top of the weekend email
"This Weekend in the Tri" goes out every Thursday morning. The sponsor gets a labeled "Presented by" card at the top: your logo, up to 150 characters you write, and one link. Any local business can buy it, with or without an event. The list is new: under 100 subscribers today, and we give you the exact number before you pay.

How it works
- Pick and orderChoose a placement and fill in the short form. You get a reference code right away, and your spot is held.
- Pay by cardCheckout runs through PayPal. You can pay with a card. You do not need a PayPal account.
- Go liveYour placement goes live after payment, usually within 2 days, with a clear label on it.
Questions
How many people will see it?
The calendar is new and growing, and we do not promise views, clicks, or ticket sales. What you buy is placement. Ask us and we send you the real visitor numbers for the last 30 days. For the newsletter, we give you the exact subscriber count before you pay.
What if the date I want is taken?
The ad calendar shows every Thursday issue and every Featured week as open, on hold, or booked. If a slot is booked, pick another one. You never pay for a slot that is not open.
Who writes the copy?
You do. The order form asks for your event details or your text, within the character limits it shows. We check that it fits the labels and the limits before it goes live.
What if my event is cancelled or moved?
Tell us before the placement ends and we move it to the new date once. If the event is cancelled before your placement goes live, you get a full refund. After it goes live, there is no refund. If a newsletter issue does not send, we move your spot to the next issue or refund it.
Do I need to run events to advertise?
No. The newsletter sponsor works for any local business. A Featured Event is for a business with a date on the calendar.
Can you turn an ad down?
Yes. We can decline or remove paid content that is misleading, unsafe, or does not fit the site, and refund any unused part.
Does paying change the free calendar?
No. Paid placements sit in their own labeled spots. Free listings stay free and stay in the same order whether or not anyone pays.
